The 2016 General Electric Lagos Garage Skills Training Programme is here again and applications has started already.
General Electric (GE), a US multinational conglomerate, has announced it is accepting applications for Lagos Garage, a skills training programme.
GE Lagos Garage first held in Lagos for three weeks in 2014 at a fully equipped fabrication lab in Lagos, Nigeria, at GE’s regional headquarters.
The participants were provided access to the latest in advanced manufacturing technologies – 3D printers, CNC mills, laser cutters, et al.
This time around, the program will run for six weeks at the renovated FabLab in Lagos, and will be dedicated to accelerating the impact of Nigeria’s most promising entrepreneurs.
Working with a variety of world-class instructors, investors, technical experts and partners, participants will build a culture of collaboration and innovation and bring their wildest ideas to life.
The participants will directly interact with the latest manufacturing technologies – including 3D printers and laser cutters – that enable innovation through rapid prototyping, which will transform Nigerian industries.
Also, the Garage will provide participants access to advanced hardware and Nigeria’s greatest mentorship network, supporting entrepreneurialism with an aim to drive growth across all sectors of industry.
The program will run from November 14 – Dec 9, 2016 from 6 PM – 9 PM at GE Nigeria Headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos. It is an opportutnity for those in the tech industry to bring their ideas and innovations on ground.
